Slide lecture topics explore the history of landscape and architectural photography and the documentation standards of the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS). Assignments focus on exploring the techniques of architectural photography using the surrounding evironment and the historically preserved site of Maison Basse. Final Portfolio This course offers the unique photographic opportunity and challenge of finding intimacy and familiarity in the foreign portrait and the foreign landscape. Through a series of on location shoots, slide lectures, and in class demos we explore important aspects of traveling with a camera in a foreign country and investigate how other photographers have faced this challenge. Assignments focus developing editorials on the urban and rural landscapes and populations of the region. Students may work in black and white and/or color and may use large- or small- format cameras.&nbsp; 10 Weeks (non-majors, PHOT 113 Pre-requisite)
